Looked handsome in a sleek black suit for the Steven Klein shot photo accompanying a column finding Alexander talk about topics including his sex symbol status and the actresses whom he’d like to work with in the future. A few of the highlights from Mr Skarsgard’s interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to British GQ!
On whether his ‘True Blood’ role is physically demanding:
“We do have to be fit – there’s a lot of running around. But I don’t go to the gym six days a week or do any weird diets or anything like that.”
On whether he’s aware of his sex symbol status:
“Absolutely not, and that might sound odd when I’ve just done the [Calvin Klein] Encounter campaign. But in terms of finding characters and movies, it’s important to me to find real characters that have some depth… what’s the incentive to play someone who’s just good looking? How much fun is that? It’s none it all.”
On who he’d like to work with as far as actresses are concerned:
“I’d love to work with Isabelle Huppert and Meryl Streep. Meryl is an amazing actress and she’s great to work with. But I’ve been very lucky because I’ve got to work with some phenomenal actresses.”

Regarding what he appreciates most about his character’s arc this season, Skarsgard shared, “I had a lot of fun exploring the fact that Eric is surprised by [the new friendship]. I enjoyed that aspect where he’s suddenly [looking at] Bill, this kid in Eric’s eyes that he never cared about, suddenly he finds himself protective and taking care of him. That’s not a feeling that Eric is comfortable with, because it makes him feel vulnerable. Read more… »
